Policy and Service Guidelines
We want to provide the best possible service to our customers and to do so, we have to set forth some guidelines for everyone to follow. Even if you place your order by phone, you are bound by these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions override any email, chat session, or contact of any kind with any of our staff. This Registration Agreement ("Agreement") also sets forth the terms and conditions of your use of this site to register a domain name on the Internet. This Agreement will become effective when accepted by WaltBren Computing, LLC.
You agree that your site will not have anything on it that contradicts this:
- The Bible is the only authoritative Word of God;
- The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, which is essential for personal salvation (and not through our works)

If we find out that you are hosting adult material elsewhere, we will be forced to remove your site (even if it does not have adult material on it) from our servers because we feel that it would be just a matter of time before you would either try to put that on our servers or place a link to it. If links to any offending sites are found, we will ask you to remove them and if you do not comply, we will then have to remove your account from our server. Posting the same or similar message referencing your domain hosted with us in any way to one or more news groups (excessive cross-posting or multiple-posting, also known as "SPAM") is explicitly prohibited.
Transfer monsters. We do not allow webcams because they really take tons of transfer and unless you are willing to help us pay for the extra bandwidth, please don't use them. If you must use one and want to help pay for the extra bandwidth please contact us to discuss it first.
We reserve the right to ask you to move your domain or upgrade to another server option that suits your needs if your site takes up more than a fair share of the server resources (over 10%). This can include excessive use of cgi resources, system resources, or excessive use of bandwidth. One way to help is to not allow people to link to your graphics or sound files. That can add up fast and take up your bandwidth before you know it. We allow bandwidth starting at 1 GB per month, but the load on the server from various applications and cgi processes can also cause big problems and we will address that if needed. There will not be any surprise bills (unless your site takes up a surprising amount of resources all at once and then we would contact you), but we will ask you to remedy this problem and if it is not possible for you to do that, you will be expected to upgrade or move.
We have chosen not to set a transfer limit. This is not unlimited transfer (no one can *really* afford to promise that and those claims are misleading in nature), but the reason that we have done this is because a large portion of the domains that we host only receive around 1000-2000 page views per month. Due to this, they are only using a small percentage of a GB of transfer per month. Since this is the case with most domains, when we get sites that are more trafficked, in most cases we can allow them to have the transfer that they need up to even several GB per month if the others on that server don't need it..
In the case that a site's bandwidth becomes very resource intensive (10% of system resources, cpu load or 10% of the transfer allotted to that server is considered resource intensive), we reserve the right to pass along the extra cost associated with the use of our system to the site owner. Normally you can get around 50,000 standard page views per GB of transfer. Real Audio / Video and / or a cgi or graphic intensive site will consume more bandwidth than standard pageviews as each file that is called by a visitor consumes bandwidth.
In the event that your site becomes so trafficked that it is requiring several GB of transfer per month on a server that does not have that much extra, we will contact you to see if we can give you any ideas on how to bring your transfer down. Sometimes it can be a simple program change or researching to see if people are linking to your graphics or files (that is a very fast way to eat up your bandwidth - so do not let people link to your stuff). If we are unable to lower it, at this point we will either pass along the cost of the extra bandwidth and/or help you find a host with more bandwidth to offer or in extreme cases where you are on the road to taking up 20 or 30 GB per month, a dedicated server to set you up on with a good company we know.
Please note that if you suddenly start taking up more bandwidth than we can handle, we would possibly have to take your site offline until we can get it straightened out. This is only in extreme cases. Example: Someone uploads a 40 MB movie to their site and announces it to the public. 5000 people come in one day to view the movie. That takes up 200,000 MB of transfer (200 GB) and costs us $1200.00! You can see where we would have to pass that cost along to the site owner that caused it.
We do our "no set limit" transfer in this manner to try to keep with Acts 2:44- 45 "and all that believed, were together and had all things common and sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men as every man had need."
We feel that if we, as a body, will share the resources available to us, we will be keeping with this scripture. If you are transferring an existing site that already receives several GB of transfer per month, contact us and we will find a solution for your hosting needs.
When you log into your control panel, you will see a limit of 2GB of transfer but this is not a set limit. This is just to help us keep track of who is using what kind of transfer and if you need more, we can analyze the use of transfer by all the other domains and see how much we can allow you to use over that. We will always, always, come up with a good solution! Even if it means helping you get set up on another host that allows more bandwidth. The only reason that we would ever cancel your domain because of transfer is if you refuse to cooperate or we feel that you are abusing our system. Then we will have to ask you to move your site to another option or cancel your account.
WaltBren Computing, LLC maintains control and any ownership of any and all I.P. numbers and addresses that may be assigned to the client and reserves in its sole discretion the right to change or remove any and all IP numbers and addresses. This indemnification is in addition to any indemnification required under the Dispute Policy. We do not own your domain name nor do we want to (unless you do not pay for it and we have to transfer the ownership to us - see the section on domain registration above) and we do not claim ownership of your content. It is completely yours. All content on your web site is considered a publication of yours and we are not to be held responsible for anything you present on the web through your domain in any way.
